Information for Consumers and Complaints

Information for consumer clients on their rights, complaints and out-of-court dispute resolution.

  1. 1.Rights of the consumer client

Where we provide legal services to a client acting as a consumer (a natural person acting outside the scope of their business), that client enjoys the rights arising from the Civil Code, the Consumer Protection Act and the Legal Profession Act.

Before entering into a contract for legal services, we inform the client of the nature and scope of the service, the method of determining the fee and the expected costs. We also advise consumers of the possibility of out-of-court dispute resolution.

  2. 2.Filing a complaint

If you are not satisfied with a legal service provided, you may file a complaint in writing at the office address or by e-mail at judr.liska@advokacie.net. Please state what the complaint concerns and what remedy you are seeking.

We handle complaints without undue delay and inform the client of the outcome in writing.

  3. 3.Out-of-court consumer dispute resolution

If no agreement is reached, a consumer client is entitled to turn to the Czech Bar Association, which is the designated entity for out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes between an attorney and a consumer client arising from a contract for legal services.

Czech Bar Association, Národní třída 16, 110 00 Prague 1, www.cak.cz. Details of the proceedings and the conditions for initiating them are available on the Bar Association's website.

  4. 4.Professional responsibility

In the practice of law, the attorney is bound by Act No. 85/1996 Coll., the Legal Profession Act, and the professional regulations of the Czech Bar Association, including its code of ethics. Compliance with these obligations is supervised by the Czech Bar Association.
